Answers to the questions owners ask most: getting started, your website, domains, plans and billing, and your account. Suddn is in early access, so paid plans are available at launch, and anything not built yet says Coming soon.

Getting started

How do I make a website with Suddn?

Type your business name at suddn.co/start and follow four short steps. Pick your kind of business, choose a look, add the essentials (your phone number, your city and up to three menu items or services), then publish. You see your website take shape as you go, and everything else can be added later from your dashboard.

How long does it take to make my website?

Under a minute for the essentials. The setup shows you the time left as you go. Your hours, photos, story and the rest can follow whenever you have a moment.

Do I need an account to start?

No. You can build your website straight away, with a live preview. Until you publish it, your website is kept only in your browser, on this device.

When can I publish my website?

Publishing needs a login, and during early access only Suddn's founders can publish. Anyone else can save their website and email address, and we'll email you when you can publish it.

What happens when I save my website for later?

We keep your email address and your website only to email you when you can publish it. You can save one website per email address; if you save again with the same address, we keep the first one. There's no newsletter, and you can ask us to delete it at any time at hello@suddn.co.

Can I add my own photos before I log in?

No. Before you log in, the preview uses sample photos for your kind of business. Once you're logged in, you add your logo and your own photos from your dashboard.

Can Suddn write the text for my website?

Yes. “Write it for me” drafts a headline, a short description and your about text, and can suggest services or menu items without prices. It uses only the name, kind of business and city you typed, and never adds prices, years, licences, awards, credentials or contact details. You keep or edit every line before you publish, and it may sometimes be unavailable.

What kinds of business is Suddn for?

Small local businesses: restaurants and cafés, salons and barbers, contractors and trades, auto shops, professional services such as bookkeepers, and shops. If yours isn't one of these, pick Something else and you get services, about, photos, hours, a quote form and contact details. Each kind has its own page at suddn.co/websites-for.

Your website

How do I change my menu, prices or hours?

From your dashboard, on your phone or your computer. Open Website, change what you need and save. Once your website is published, every change is live straight away.

Is there a Publish button for my changes?

No, only the first time. After your website is published, every change you save is public straight away. If you want it offline for a while, unpublish it from Settings.

Can I change my theme or colours later?

Yes, any time, in Design. All ten themes, their palettes and your own colour are free on every plan, and your content stays as it is when you switch. If a colour can't be made readable, Suddn tells you and suggests another.

How many photos can I upload?

50 on Free, with 500 MB of space. Every image counts toward the 50: your logo, item photos and gallery. Pro has 5 GB for photos and menus. Each image can be up to 5 MB and a menu PDF up to 10 MB; video isn't supported.

Can customers book, reserve or order from my website?

Yes, on Pro, with buttons that open the service you already use. Book a time works with providers such as Calendly, Booksy, Fresha and Square Appointments, and restaurants get Reserve a table (OpenTable, Resy) and Order online (Uber Eats, DoorDash, SkipTheDishes). Suddn never takes bookings, orders or payments itself. If your provider isn't on the list, email hello@suddn.co.

Where do quote requests and messages go?

To the Inbox in your dashboard, and to your email. Quote requests and messages from your website's contact form arrive together. On Free you see the newest 3; Pro shows every one. The quote form isn't offered to restaurants or salons; the contact form is on every plan for every kind of business.

Can customers text me from my website?

Yes, if you turn on the Message button in Design, under Features. It's on every plan and off by default. Only turn this on if your number can receive texts.

Will my website show up on Google?

It can, but no one can honestly promise where. Suddn websites are fast, made for phones and come with a proper title, description and structured data, which help search engines understand them. Where you show up depends on many things, like your business, your area and the other websites around you.

Domains

What will my website address be?

It's yourname.suddn.page, made from your business name with no hyphens. For example, Northline Plumbing becomes northlineplumbing.suddn.page.

What if the name I want is already taken?

Suddn offers readable alternatives first. It tries your name with your city, “the” plus your name, and your name plus “co”, and adds a number only as a last resort.

Can I change my website address later?

Yes, from Settings in your dashboard. You can add hyphens if you like, and your old address forwards to the new one, so old links keep working.

Can I use my own domain?

Not yet. Connecting your own domain is Coming soon, as part of Pro. Once it's ready, a domain you already own, like yourbusiness.com, can point to your Suddn website, and the domain stays yours.

Can I buy a domain through Suddn?

Not yet. Buying a domain inside Suddn is Coming soon. Until then, every website lives at yourname.suddn.page, and you don't need a domain to publish.

Why isn't the address I typed allowed?

Because some addresses are blocked to protect visitors. Addresses that look like a well-known brand (including a brand run together with a word like “help”), reserved words and blocked names can't be used, so nobody can pass themselves off as someone else.

Does my website get the padlock (SSL)?

Yes. Every website on every plan comes with an SSL certificate, the padlock next to your address, and hosting is included.

Plans and billing

How much does Suddn cost?

A one-page website is free. Pro is $16.67 a month billed yearly ($199.99), or $19.99 monthly. Business is $33.33 a month billed yearly ($399.99), or $39.99 monthly, and Agency is $125 a month billed yearly ($1,499.99), or $149.99 monthly.

Can I buy a paid plan now?

No. Suddn is in early access, so paid plans are available at launch, and nothing is charged before then.

What do I get with Pro?

A multi-page website, no Suddn badge, and buttons that turn visitors into bookings and orders. Your website gets Home, Menu or Services, About, Gallery and Contact, with navigation between them. Pro also adds the Team section, every message and quote request, 5 GB for photos and menus, and full visitor stats. Connecting your own domain is Coming soon.

What do Business and Agency add?

Features that aren't built yet, so every one is marked Coming soon. Business adds online payments and ordering, Google reviews, an email list and campaigns, up to 3 locations and priority support. Agency gives each website the Business features and adds up to 25 websites, handing websites over to clients, team collaboration and partner commission.

Is the free plan really free?

Yes, $0. The free one-page website stays free, with every theme and colour, the core sections, Call and Directions buttons and QR codes. It shows a small “Made with Suddn” badge.

Can the prices change before launch?

Yes, they can. We'll always tell you the price before you pay anything.

Can I get a refund?

Billing isn't live yet. No plan can be bought and nothing is charged.

Your account

How do I log in?

With Google, with your email and password, or with a login link we email you. Forgot your password? Use “Forgot password?” on the login page to set a new one.

Why can't I log in or publish?

During early access, only Suddn's founders can log in and publish. You can still build your website and save it with your email address, and we'll email you when you can publish it.

How do I unpublish my website?

From Settings in your dashboard. Your website goes back to a draft and isn't public any more, and nothing on it is deleted.

How do I delete my website?

Go to Settings in your dashboard and press “Delete website”. It deletes your website, its photos, its quote requests and messages, and your notes about customers, so if you only want a break, unpublish it instead.

Can I have more than one website?

Not yet. Each account has one website for now; up to 25 websites on the Agency plan is Coming soon.

How do I delete the website I saved for later?

Email hello@suddn.co and ask us to. We'll delete your saved website and your email address.

Where is my information stored?

Your website's details are in a database hosted in Canada. Some services we use, such as hosting and email, are run by companies in the United States. The privacy policy at suddn.co/legal/privacy has the details.

How do I report a website that breaks the rules?

Use the Report a website form at suddn.co/report-abuse, or email abuse@suddn.co. Include the website's address and what you saw, and don't include passwords or payment details. We review each report, and a website that breaks our Acceptable Use Policy can be suspended or removed.

Still stuck?

Email hello@suddn.co with your website's address and what happened. We reply by email.
